Workshop Outcomes

This workshop is aimed to level the playing field for business leaders, decision makers and investors to gain new insights and a fresh unbiased view into current developments in AI-driven Robotics.

Structured overview of technological components and developments in AI-driven robotics.
Overview of the innovation ecosystem - from startup to research groups.
Critical discussion of data requirements for recent imitation learning approaches.
Networking and access to like-minded group of leaders with an engaging discussion.
Take steps to more easily distinguish marketing hype from reality to assess the potential of emerging technologies.
Strategies for hiring the right talent for AI Robotics innovation.

What is included?

In this workshop, the presenters will utilize videos of recorded experiments featuring our robots to illustrate core technical concepts. If you prefer to learn to control and program a live robots yourself, our Hands-on Starter Program may be the right choice for you instead.

Module 1: Overview, History & Recent Developments

We provide an introduction and overview to the AI-driven robotics paradigm and a perspective of recent and historical developments of significance.

A short historical overview of AI-driven robotics and breakthroughs in recent years.
Research, corporate and startup competitive landscape overview
Recent developments. An up to date summary for 2025.

Module 2: Modern AI-driven Robotics

It seems like every day a new AI foundation model appears to revolutionize robotics. In this module we provide a structured overview of the important core technologies to allow you to distinguish hype from real innovation. We will discuss how these technologies can be applied in robotics.

What are Foundation Models for Robotics? From Large Language Models to Vision-Language-Action Models for Robotics
Diffusion Models and Teaching Robots via Human Demonstration
The role of classical methods in the AI paradigm? Control, Planning, Safety and more.

Module 3: Case Study of AI-Driven Pick & Place

In this module we will walk through the requirements for a full AI-driven implementation of a pick and place task and will illustrate aspects of the emerging challenges using videos and experimental insights gained from real robot experiments of a mock-up real-world implementation.

What goes into an AI-enabled pick & place solution?
Training data and benchmarking requirements
Discussion of a mock-up partial pick and place implementation and the resulting technical challenges

Module 4: The Business Case for AI-Driven Robotics

While it is easy to demonstrate initial success in lab settings, a full commercial implementation of AI-driven robotics solutions requires more than a tech demo. We discuss outstanding challenges and requirements towards commercial adoption.

A discussion of the economics of AI-Driven Robotics
Attracting the right skillsets
The importance of data flywheels and benchmarking at scale.
Distinguishing hype from reality in AI-Driven Robotics
