Learn Robotics & AI with Real Robots
Course Requirements
Learning Outcomes
This AI & robotics starter course will provide you with a compact overview and a first hands-on experience of working with robotics in a modern AI-driven approach. This course is ideal for busy professionals interested in exploring the area of AI-driven robotics.
What is included?
Module 1: Introduction to modern AI-driven Robotics
We provide an introduction of the core components of AI-driven robotics, an overview of the historical perspective and recent ecosystem developments and startups.
Module 2: Reasoning about the World
How can robots reason about the state of the world? We dive into how perception, computer vision, large language and and vision-action-language models are used for robotics.
Module 3: Motion Planning and Imitation Learning
How can a robot reason about its motions? We contrast classical motion planning approaches with more recent imitation learning approaches to this problem.
Module 4: A Robotic Pick & Place Implementation
In this module we bring together the techniques we learned about in a demonstration pick and place implementation on our live robots.
Module 5: Career and Business Opportunities & The Future
The AI robotics revolution enables many exciting new career opportunities. From machine learning jobs to work on data collection and ethical and legal considerations. We provide an overview of the emerging startup ecosystem and career opportunities.
How does this course work?
This course is given fully online.
- Sign up and purchase your individual ticket using the link at the top of this page.
- We will send you a course preparation document about a week before the course starts. Preparation for the first session will take no more than 2 hours.
- We meet twice a week at the scheduled times via video call. During these live sessions, we will have a mix of mini-lectures, group discussions and individual robot programming tasks.
- After each class you will receive a voluntary preparation task list to review and dive deeper into the material covered. You should reserve 2 hours per week for this preparation.
- All programming will be done in the browser with our live-streamed robots. We will use prepared Python code blocks, so programming will focus on working with a small amount of code at a time. There is no need for any software installation. You only need a recent version of a browser such as Chrome, Edge or Firefox.
- We will facilitate networking of interested course participants following the course to build an active community of participants interested in AI-driven robotics.
- At the end of the course you will receive your completion certificate issued by Scaleup Robotics AB.
Who are the course organizers?
This course is taught by our co-founders themselves, drawing on a combined experience of over 20 years in AI & Robotics research and education with publications at top international venues such as NeurIPS, ICML and IEEE ICRA.
